Normcore V4.1 has a 58.5 mm flat base; FlowLight has a 58.35 mm ripple base. Diameter changes with shape.
Follow basket guidance; smaller can still be unsuitable.

Start with the basket diameter, not the spring
Selected tamper diameters span 45.5 to 58.5 mm. Normcore Palm Tamper (Adjustable pressure) uses a 58.5 mm ripple base with a self-calibrating mechanism; Crema Coffee Products offers a 58.5 mm flat-base design with a manual depth stop. Similar diameter does not mean the same adjustment method.
The diameter control sets an upper bound. A smaller tamper can still be unsuitable for your basket, so use the basket maker's exact guidance rather than interpreting every result beneath the limit as a fit.
Flat and ripple describe surfaces, not extraction results
Base-surface descriptions are confirmed for 8 of the 10 tampers, and mechanism descriptions for 9. Normcore Heavy Coffee Tamper has a ripple base but an unknown mechanism; do not infer the missing detail from another Normcore design.
Flat, ripple and spring-assisted descriptions cannot prove extraction quality. On a page offering several sizes, select the same base diameter before purchasing.
Before you buy
Does a basket size identify the correct tamper?
Use the basket maker’s recommended tamper diameter. A maximum-diameter preference is an upper limit, not an automatic machine-compatibility decision. Normcore V4.1 has a 58.5 mm flat base; MHW-3BOMBER FlowLight has a 58.35 mm ripple base. Use your basket’s fit guidance. V4.1 suits you if your basket calls for that diameter and a flat base. FlowLight changes both. A smaller base can pass the size limit and still be unsuitable for your basket.
Are different diameters counted as separate products?
Each row uses one selected model variant. MHW-3BOMBER CD Series is shown at 45.5 mm, while Flash and YU are shown at 51 mm. Other sizes can exist on the linked pages.
Is a spring-assisted base always flat?
Normcore Palm uses a ripple base with a self-calibrating mechanism; Crema’s flat-base combo uses a manual depth stop. V4 and V5 base surfaces remain unknown. Those descriptions do not establish extraction quality.
