Not every package includes a plate. Rockler 51984 and SawStop In-Line need one separately; JessEm Mast-R-Lift II includes a lift.
SawStop's 864 sq in surface matches Woodpeckers and Rockler Pro, despite needing that extra part.

Decide whether you can leave the router station assembled
Woodpeckers' Premium Router Table Package uses a stationary stand; Bench Dog's ProTop Contractor is a portable benchtop arrangement. Rockler's Convertible Benchtop table uses a folding wall mount. Choose the storage and mounting arrangement before chasing tabletop area, especially if your bench also serves other jobs.
Known surface areas range from 302.97 to 864 sq in. Woodpeckers Premium and Rockler Pro Phenolic each have 864 sq in, while Bench Dog ProTop Contractor has 352 sq in. Equal areas do not establish equal shapes, fence travel or support for a long workpiece. Some table areas remain unknown.
Budget attention for the router, plate and lift combination
SawStop's In-Line Router Table for PCS has a plate-sold-separately mounting description. Woodpeckers Premium and Rockler Pro Phenolic have precision-leveling inserts; MLCS Router Table Top and Fence has a drill-to-fit plate description. Those packages leave different mounting decisions to you.
A universal-plate label cannot establish compatibility with your router or lift. Use the exact plate drilling pattern, router dimensions and package contents. This guide compares router-table packages on paper without making cuts; mounting labels do not establish adjustment accuracy under load.
Look for workholding and a usable dust connection
Woodpeckers Premium includes a stock-guides workholding description and a built-in fence dust port. Bench Dog ProTop Contractor has a miter-slot jointing description and a built-in fence port. SawStop In-Line instead has a miter-slot/start-pin description and an optional dust box.
Choose the workholding accessories and dust connection for the cuts you intend to make, then verify the actual connector and extractor pairing. A port label does not measure dust removal. Read the router-table and router manuals for guarding, workpiece support and safe feed technique before setting up the station.
Before you buy
Is the MLCS a complete router table?
The current MLCS entry is a Horizontal Flatbed Router Table with a drill-to-fit plate. Check its contents and router compatibility before choosing it.
Which tables pack away?
The Rockler 51984 folds to the wall, and the Bench Dog ProTop and Kreg PRS2100 are portable benchtop models at 352 and 384 sq in, while five others are stationary stands.
Will a universal plate fit my router?
Not automatically. Five tables use a universal plate, including both Bosch models and the Grizzly T10432, but a router’s base could still miss the plate’s holes and opening, so compare yours with the plate maker’s compatibility list.
