Choose how the water will leave the room

Across 10 Waykar dehumidifiers, tanks hold 0.58 to 2.38 gal. Waykar's stated water handling and rating conditions underpin the dehumidifier figures; room drying, noise and energy consumption remain unmeasured. The CHWA150A and CHWA150PA share the larger tank; the CHWA120A holds 1.45 gal. A larger tank gives more storage, but removal rate and room conditions determine how often you empty it. Included gravity hoses run from 3.3 to 6.6 ft. Measure the route to a suitable drain and follow the drainage instructions; hose length does not indicate uphill pumping capability.

A warm, humid capacity rating is not a room forecast

Waykar's removal ratings span 34 to 150 pints per day under the warm, humid manufacturer conditions shown beside the control. CHWA150A and the YDZ model rated at 150 pints per day share a removal rating, yet their tanks hold 2.38 and 1.85 gal respectively. The figures are not DOE ratings, cannot be directly compared with ratings under different conditions, and do not predict removal in your room. Use tank volume and the drain route alongside capacity rather than converting capacity into an emptying schedule.

Before you buy

Can I compare these pint ratings with another brand's?

Only if that brand also rates at 95°F and 90% relative humidity. A DOE pint rating is measured under a different test, so matching pint numbers from the two tests aren't the same claim. Waykar makes the 10 units here in four capacities, from 34 to 150 pints a day, all rated under that condition. Pick the size first, then think about drainage. Running at that rating, every tank here would fill in about 1.7 to 3.5 hours, so in a wet basement you'll likely lean on the hose rather than the bucket. Nine come with a 3.3 ft gravity hose; the 34-pint PD09B has 6.6 ft.

What if my floor drain is higher than the dehumidifier?

A gravity hose can't help there. Water only runs downhill through it. Waykar sells two of the 150-pint units as pump versions, the CHWA150PA and the YDZ-150PM (the pump is named in their product titles). Pump lift and pump-hose length aren't part of this comparison, so read those on the model page before you count on them.

Why doesn't the finder use square-foot coverage?

Waykar's titles claim coverage of up to 6,000 sq ft for some 120-pint units and 7,000 sq ft for some 150-pint units, but no common method for those figures comes with them here, so we kept to the rated pints per day.
